Judge won’t block future vaccination mandates in LA schools

“To say that we know what action LAUSD is going to take in the face of some unknown public health emergency, I think, is pure speculation,” Superior Court Judge Mitchell L. Beckloff said.

A judge sustained a demurrer by the Los Angeles Unified School District in a case challenging its authority to place students who aren't vaccinated for COVID or other illnesses into independent study.

Superior Court Judge Mitchell L. Beckloff sustained the demurrer on the grounds that an amended petition for writ of mandate made speculative arguments about mandates the district might issue in the future.
