Tinder settlement nixed, plaintiff has conflict of interest

A 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel on Tuesday rejected a class settlement with the owner of the Tinder dating app, ruling that the plaintiff has a conflict of interest with other members of the class and failed to vigorously litigate the case.
Objectors who filed a similar complaint against Tinder in state court raised objections to the proposed settlement, which they said would deprive them of a chance of pursuing their own claims....
