Dixie Fire trial to proceed despite plea for settlement time

“PG&E respectfully submits that the court should permit the ADR protocol to settle as many cases as possible. Preparing for trial in April 2024 will distract the parties from the settlement process,” Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP attorneys wrote on behalf of the utility.

A San Francisco judge on Wednesday declined to vacate an April 2 trial date in the coordinated proceeding between Pacific Gas & Electric Co. and 1,589 plaintiffs who say they were injured in the 2021 Dixie Fire that burned 963,000 acres in Butte, Plumas, Lassen, Shasta, and Tehama counties.
