LA wins judgment on pleadings in challenge to rent freeze

Apartment owners claimed a rent freeze imposed in 2020 violated their due process rights.

The City of Los Angeles won judgment on the pleadings in a lawsuit by a coalition of landlords over a rent freeze ordinance passed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
