Attempt to suspend Girardi’s son-in-law is unconstitutional, counsel argues

David R. Lira, who has been fighting with State Bar prosecutors since September in an effort to pause a proceeding that could temporarily suspend his law license, argued in a court filing that the agency’s application is procedurally and constitutionally improper.

Attorneys for former Girardi Keese attorney David R. Lira, who has been trying since September to pause a proceeding that could temporarily suspend his law license, argued that the State Bar’s application is procedurally and constitutionally improper.

Specifically, they wrote in a recent court filing, the bar’s suspension application was filed months after he was charged in June.
