Photographer wins $6.3M for unauthorized use of pictures

A Los Angeles federal jury awarded $6.3 million to an architectural photographer in a copyright infringement lawsuit against Pacifica Senior Living Management LLC, a company headquartered in San Diego.

The defendant’s attorney said the photos were purchased from the photographer and placed on the web site of the previous owner of the facilities and that Pacific assumed they were part of its acquisition deal.
