$17.5M verdict reached over disabled man’s death

“Following Decedent’s injuries, [Driver] Juarez refused to offer any assistance to Decedent, leaving Decedent’s family members to tend to their father who had sustained head trauma and remained unconscious and unresponsive,” attorney Andrew A. Talebi wrote.

A jury in Los Angeles awarded $17.5 million to a family who accused Access Services of negligence leading to the death of a disabled dialysis patient that the medical transport driver was supposed to assist to his front door. It awarded $13.2 million in past non-economic damages and $4.2 million in future non-economic damages.
