Twitter seeks dismissal of suit by Saudi dissidents

Plaintiff siblings Areej Al-Sadhan and Abdulrahman Al-Sadhan claimed that Twitter cooperated with the Saudi government because the nation provided the company with a substantial equity investment and growing market.

Twitter Inc., now named X Corp., asked a federal judge Wednesday to dismiss claims against it from Saudi Arabian dissidents who accused Twitter of conspiring with the kingdom in 2014 and 2015 to hand over their personal information, exposing them to harm.

Senior U.S. District Judge Edward M. Chen took the arguments under submission. Al-Sadhan et al. v. Twitter Inc. et al., 23-cv-02369, (N.D. Cal., filed May 16, 2023).
