‘Fat’ Leonard back in US court for bribing Navy officers

Prosecutors said “Fat Leonard” Francis cut off his ankle bracelet and fled to Venezuela in 2022 before being returned last month as part of a prisoner swap.

A year and a half after fleeing the country, convicted military contractor Leonard Glenn “Fat Leonard” Francis appeared in federal court in San Diego on Thursday. He pleaded guilty nine years ago to bribing Navy officers in exchange for defense contracts.
