Gun battle appears to rage at 9th Circuit

Legal experts and attorneys on either side considered whether a quick turnaround was a sign that gun rights advocates had drawn a favorable three-judge panel or whether the panel judges merely wanted to block a new law before deciding whether it violates gun owners’ constitutional rights.

An internal battle at the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals over Second Amendment law continued over the weekend when a panel dissolved a stay blocking an injunction against a California statute banning firearms from a variety of locations that had been put in place a week before.
