Occupational therapist awarded $9.3M on retaliation claim

The woman claimed she was demoted from fulltime employment after taking off time to care for a sick child.

A San Diego County jury awarded $9.3 million to an occupational therapist who claimed Concentra Health Services Inc. terminated her employment as retaliation for taking time off to care for her son, who was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.
