Fullerton must hike new housing 600%

“The challenge was where to place those units so we can maintain the high quality of life for Fullerton residents,” Fullerton City Manager Eric Levitt said.

The city of Fullerton has settled an affordable housing dispute with the state of California.

Under the terms of the settlement, Fullerton agreed to adopt a housing plan for the development of 13,209 homes, of which 5,187 would be for low or very low-income residents. It establishes a Nov. 5 deadline for a compliant Housing Element, and a Dec. 29 deadline for modernized zoning code to meet those targets.
