State Civil Rights Department settles Activision suit for $45.75M

The department sued Activision Blizzard in 2021 over claims that the company disproportionately hired men and maintained a “frat boy” culture. It dropped eight of the 11 claims in the settlement and added different ones.

Video game developer Activision Blizzard will pay $45.75 million pursuant to a consent decree reached with the California Civil Rights Department in a case claiming unlawful, sex-based employment practices at the company.

Activision will also pay some $9 million in attorney fees and costs for the state's attorneys.
