Judiciary Committee OKs 2 district judges for California

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kirk E. Sherriff, nominated for the Eastern District, and Alameda County Superior Court Judge Eumi K. Lee, nominated for the Northern District, moved to the Senate floor.

Eastern District Assistant U.S. Attorney Kirk E. Sherriff and Alameda County Superior Court Judge Eumi K. Lee were approved for district court vacancies in California by the Senate Judiciary Committee on narrow partisan votes Thursday.

This was Sherriff’s first time before the committee, and his nomination was approved 12-9, with the committee’s ranking member, U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-SC, voting yes by proxy along with all 11 of the D...
