Lawsuit claims Stanley drink cups risk lead exposure

The lawsuit, filed by John Rushing and Ryan McCarl of Rushing McCarl LLP, targets Pacific Market International LLC, which makes the Stanley cups.

A putative class action against the makers of Stanley brand drinkware claimed Thursday that the company sold its highly popular tumblers knowing that they contained a risk of lead exposure.

The company stated on its website that there is no lead on any surface of the cups and said that if, in a rare occurrence, a case cap comes off and exposes a seal with lead, it falls under a lifetime replacement warranty.
