A small business’ long fight for tobacco tax refund

Starbuzz International Inc. has been trying to recoup $2.8 million in tobacco taxes for over eight years. Anti-tax groups see the case as an example of government overreach.

A judge in Sacramento issued another setback on Friday to a company that has spent more than eight years trying to recoup $2.8 million it paid in tobacco taxes it never owed.
