Some attorneys might reduce fees in baby food case

Some, but not all, of the baby food makers who won dismissal of a lawsuit claiming their products caused autism, told a judge they might reduce their fees. But one noted that the attorney for the plaintiff, a child, stated on their web site that they absorb fees and costs when they lose.

Baby food makers that sought over $600,000 in attorney fees and costs from a 9-year-old autistic boy whose lawsuit against them was dismissed may decide to lower that amount pending talks between the parties after a hearing on Wednesday.

In any case, a defendant’s lawyer said, the child’s attorneys advertise on their website that they pay fees and costs when they lose, so the boy was never expected to pay.
