Berkeley schools accused of allowing antisemitic bullying

The complaint also alleges that teachers used class time to propagandize against Israel and that parents have reported antisemitic incidents, but the district has only moved Jewish and Israeli students into new classes.

Berkeley Unified School District was accused of failing to take action against antisemitic bullying and harassment in a complaint filed Wednesday with the U.S. Department of Education. The filing came weeks after attorneys for UC Berkeley and its law school, defending similar claims, told a federal judge that punishing student organizations for “political speech” was unconstitutional.
