Writer says lawsuit over memoir was to embarrass him

The writer, a prominent property owner, and his brother-in-law sued each other over varied recollections about the events in a memoir.

A lawsuit seeking compensatory damages from a book publisher over allegations that a prominent Los Angeles property owner lied in his memoir was intended to embarrass the writer, and the real issues are elsewhere in Los Angeles County Superior Court, the developer said in court filings on Tuesday.
