Judge lauds LA for transparency in homeless services spending
The judge’s compliments contrasted with his previous comments that the city was misleading the plaintiff about keeping to promised deadlines to provide shelters. In fact a sanctions hearing was scheduled for later in the day.
LOS ANGELES — A federal judge on Thursday commended the City of Los Angeles for fulfilling transparency promises made by the mayor two weeks ago to publish invoices from service providers on how the city spends its money on homeless services pursuant to a shelter agreement that was reached with a group of skid row residents and business owners two years ago.
