LA County agrees to pay $25M for shooting of autistic man

The Executive Force Review Committee determined that the deputies’ use of force was within department policy, and the district attorney did not find sufficient evidence to charge them with a crime.

A $25 million settlement for an autistic, partially deaf man who was shot and paralyzed by sheriff’s deputies in his home was set for approval by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors at its regular meeting on Tuesday.

The vote was delayed by protests, however.
