Welk Group unjust enrichment lawsuit to proceed

Lawrence Welk Jr., son of the late television bandleader, claims that his own son and other relatives ousted him as CEO and misused the company’s assets for their own gain.

A Los Angeles County judge may allow claims of unjust enrichment filed by Lawrence Welk’s son against the company founded by the late television bandleader to proceed.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Barbara M. Scheper tentatively overruled The Welk Group’s demurrer to Lawrence Welk Jr.’s lawsuit ahead of Tuesday’s hearing. Scheper took the issue under submission following oral arguments and continued the matter to April 15.
