AT&T faces another class action over data breach

The new lawsuit, filed in Santa Clara Superior Court by Mark D. Potter and James M. Treglio of Potter Handy LLP, comes a few weeks after AT&T was hit with two similar proposed class actions in Texas and California federal courts.

Litigation against phone carrier AT&T Mobility LLC over a 2021 data breach continues to mount, with a proposed class action lawsuit filed Monday accusing the company of failing to protect customers' confidential information. The lead plaintiff only became aware that they were a victim of the attack on April 11, when the company publicly admitted an additional 7.6 million users had their information compromised.
