Lawsuit accuses former Tyson & Mendes lawyer of mishandling toy store case

The attorney's failure to notify the plaintiff of a settlement offer by his client, Tom's Toys, led to costly and unnecessary litigation, according to the complaint.

A chain of toy stores claims in a new lawsuit that an attorney with Tyson & Mendes LLP mishandled its defense in a Private Attorneys General Act case, costing it some $480,000. The complaint filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court stated that the attorney's failure to notify the plaintiff of a settlement offer by his client, Tom's Toys, led to costly and unnecessary litigation.
