CoStar accused of 'hacking and scraping' competitor's data

The allegations are contained in an amended countersuit filed as part of an ongoing copyright dispute between CREXi and Costar that has previously caught the attention of the FTC.

Defense attorneys representing Commercial Real Estate Exchange Inc., also known as CREXi, in a copyright dispute against CoStar Group Inc. accused its plaintiff competitor of engaging in an anticompetitive scheme that involved the extraction of 70 million pieces of data related to thousands of online property listings.
