DoorDash reaches settlement with crash victim's family

Plaintiffs' attorneys had alleged that the delivery service was vicariously liable for the incident, despite the company's drivers working as independent contractors.

DoorDash has reached a settlement with a family that claimed wrongful death after one of its delivery drivers ran into them last summer, killing the father, maiming the mother and injuring the son.

The plaintiffs' attorneys with Panish Shea Ravipudi LLP filed a notice of settlement with the Los Angeles County Superior Court on July 2, one week after they requested a trial date. The terms of the settlement have not been divulged.
