Toyota forklift engines cheat emission standards, suit says

Plaintiffs who use Toyota forklift engines claim the company fabricated important emissions numbers for certification testing and modified engine software to perform better during the tests than it would in real life.

Forklift engines manufactured by Toyota Motor Corp. cheat vehicle emission standards and are illegally imported for sale in the U.S., two landscaping businesses and a food distributor claimed in a lengthy complaint lodged in federal court in San Francisco.
