Supreme Court asked to rule on gun show sales
C.D. "Chuck" Michel, a senior partner with Michel & Associates PC, wrote Wednesday in a writ of certiorari for a gun show promoter that the 9th Circuit-approved state bans are unconstitutional.
A gun show promoter filed a writ of certiorari with the U.S. Supreme Court challenging state laws that bar the sale of firearms, ammunition and precursor parts at gun shows.
A 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel ruled in June that the statutes are constitutional, resolving split decisions in district courts. Both cases involve the sale of firearms and ammunition on state-owned property, one at Del Mar Fairgrounds and the other at the Orange County Fair and Event Center.
