AG Bonta prepares for legal clashes with Trump Administration, backed by $25M

Speaking at the Sacramento Press Club, the state attorney general discussed Gov. Gavin Newsom's funding proposal to bolster legal defenses against the incoming Trump administration.

Speaking to the Sacramento Press Club, Attorney General Rob Bonta said Gov. Newsom called him in December when he first proposed setting aside $25 million for new legal battles with the incoming Donald Trump administration.

"The governor called me the day before he called the legislative the special session to let me know what he was thinking," Bonta told a lunchtime meeting of reporters gathered near the Capitol on Monday.
