Miller Barondess wins $10.1M jury verdict for client who resigned

Miller Barondess LLP won a $10.1M verdict for James Boothe, who resigned due to post-merger breaches of his employment contract with SBAM and Nuveen, affirming his "good reason" to leave.

Attorneys with Miller Barondess LLP won a $10.1 million jury verdict for a client who said breaches of his employment contract resulting from a merger gave him good cause to resign his post.

"The case was very much about a concerted chipping away at his rights over the course of several years that eventually led to the last straw, which triggered his right to resign for good reason," said Miller Barondess partner Amnon Z. Siegel in a phone call on Monday.
