Erewhon accused of selling tainted kale chips

The organic food market was accused in a lawsuit of selling kale chips contaminated with harmful minerals. The maker of the chips is not a defendant in the case.

An upscale Southern California supermarket chain is accused of selling "tainted chips."

A lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court claims that Erewhon sold kale chips contaminated with lead and cadmium without warning customers. Lead and cadmium are known to cause cancer and reproductive harm. The lawsuit claims violation of Proposition 65.
