A nearly $50 million settlement between the NCAA and unpaid assistant baseball coaches is likely to be approved by a federal judge in Sacramento.

The proposed agreement would resolve a two-year case that centers on allegations the NCAA's now-repealed "volunteer coach" rule for Division I baseball teams violated antitrust laws by fixing compensation for a category of hired coaches at zero.
