Judge finalizes first wave of Uber assault bellwether trials

According to U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer's scheduling order, the first wave is set to begin Dec. 8. Only two of the selected cases were filed in California.

A federal judge in San Francisco on Thursday selected six cases for the first wave of bellwether trials in multidistrict litigation against Uber Technologies Inc., where more than 2,000 female passengers claim the company failed to protect them from sexual assault by drivers.
