LA taking hard stance in crash suit because of budget, plaintiffs say

Los Angeles denies liability in police crash lawsuit, citing immunity, as plaintiffs allege officer fault and city pursues bill to limit damages.

Facing a lawsuit over a high-speed police crash that allegedly left two men with life-altering injuries, the City of Los Angeles is preparing legislation to limit its liability and has chosen a strategy of denial and deflection, according to counsel for the plaintiffs, who say evidence and internal findings suggest officer fault.
