Judge drops Girardi's wire fraud charges in Chicago
A Chicago judge dropped all wire fraud charges against Tom Girardi, 85, citing his age and prior Los Angeles conviction. Co-defendants face ongoing charges in the Lion Air case in which the government said clients' settlement funds were stolen.

A federal judge in Chicago permanently dropped all charges against Tom Girardi regarding an alleged scheme to rip off Lion Air crash victims out of over $3 million in settlement funds.
During a telephonic status hearing Thursday, U.S. District Judge Mary M. Rowland in the Northern District of Illinois granted the federal prosecutors' motion to drop Girardi, who is 85, from the case with prejudice due to his age and his conviction of similar crimes last year in Los Angeles.
