Claude AI tool misstates citation in case about its training

Claude is at the center of a putative class action by some of the largest music labels and publishers, which say Anthropic committed copyright infringement to train the AI tool.

Anthropic PBC's legal team from Latham & Watkins LLP apologized to a federal judge in San Jose on Thursday for an "embarrassing" mistake - an incorrect citation of authorities made by Anthropic's own AI-powered virtual assistant, Claude.
