Plaintiffs to file targeted complaints over 2025 Palisades fire
The move follows opposition from LADWP's legal team, who argued that a single master complaint would confuse the factual and legal theories. Judge Stuart M. Rice, who is overseeing the case, announced his upcoming retirement at a status conference Wednesday.





Plaintiffs' attorneys pursuing damages from the Palisades Fire plan to file multiple "mini master complaints" targeting specific water districts and utilities allegedly responsible for worsening the 2021 wildfire that destroyed homes across Malibu, Pacific Palisades, and unincorporated Los Angeles County.
