Justice gap widens as fewer Californians find legal help, State Bar study finds
The report suggests persistent access barriers, especially in rural areas, and may bolster controversial reform efforts aimed at expanding legal services through technology and non-lawyer professionals.




Despite a growing legal economy and nearly 200,000 active attorneys, most Californians still struggle to get legal help for basic civil problems, according to a new State Bar report that shows the state's access-to-justice crisis has worsened since 2019.
