L.A. wins CEQA challenge over Hollywood hotel project
A Los Angeles County judge has upheld city approvals for a luxury hotel project, rejecting lawsuits from environmental and housing advocates who argued the development would improperly displace affordable housing tenants.




The City of Los Angeles has defeated legal challenges under the California Environmental Quality Act to a planned luxury hotel in Hollywood, which environmental groups argued would require demolishing affordable housing units.
Judge James Chalfant ruled that the project qualifies for a special exemption from certain environmental requirements and does not conflict with city affordable housing mandates.
