Santa Ana, Anchor Stone Church settle land use litigation

Santa Ana settles with Anchor Stone Christian Church, allowing it to conduct religious services in a professional zone after a court battle over alleged discriminatory zoning practices.

An agreement was reached between Santa Ana and a small church over claims the city has been unlawfully preventing it from holding religious services on a property it purchased in the designated professional zone in 2022.

According to a text only entry filed in the Central District docket on Friday, the parties settled the matter before U.S. Magistrate Judge Douglas F. McCormick during an eight-hour hearing Thursday morning.
