The Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles has filed a lawsuit seeking more than $2.5 million in damages from contractors after a 2023 fire at a secure El Segundo data center that destroyed critical public infrastructure.
The authority claims it fully depended on the defendants to protect its data equipment, which was severely damaged by the fire, allegedly caused by a faulty fan and worsened by an outdated water-based suppression system.
