Two motels and a restaurant in Santa Ana are accused of operating as "drug dens" and contributing to criminal activity in the area, ruining the community's quality of life, according to a nuisance complaint moved to federal court Friday.

However, an attorney defending the businesses and their owners said that although the city may have a crime problem, his clients are not directly connected to the activity.
