7-year-old suit against State Farm over Woolsey Fire coverage heads to trial

Ranch owners sue State Farm, alleging underpaid insurance claims for structures lost in the 2018 Woolsey Fire. State Farm says the homeowners' insurance did not cover buildings used for business.

A jury trial set to begin next week marks the culmination of years of legal battles between the owners of a ranch lost in the 2018 Woolsey Fire and State Farm Insurance over coverage for multiple structures on the property, including a winery and music studio.

The case centers on claims that State Farm underpaid fire insurance benefits and that their agent was negligent in securing adequate coverage.
