Judge finds real estate platform likely infringed copyrighted images

A federal judge made key findings in favor of CoStar Group in a copyright dispute with rival real estate platform CREXi over alleged image theft, setting up a narrowed trial on remaining liability and damages issues.

In a heated, five-year copyright dispute between two real estate listing companies, a federal judge in Los Angeles found it was likely Commercial Real Estate Exchange Inc., known as CREXi, willfully infringed thousands of property images she determined were owned by CoStar Group Inc.
