LA bike path will spook horses, violates CEQA, lawsuit says

Mariposa Basin Environmental Alliance sues Los Angeles, claiming the city's bike path violates CEQA by ignoring environmental and safety impacts on historic equestrian trails along the Los Angeles River.

A lawsuit against the City of Los Angeles claims that it violated the California Environmental Quality Act by failing to adequately evaluate the impact of a bike path that advocates say will likely create hazards for horse riders who have historically used a riverside trail.

There are fears that heavy use of a path by pedestrians, bikes and cars accessing the river will spook the horses and harm the environment.
