Judge weighs constitutionality of state's climate disclosure laws

A federal judge in Los Angeles is weighing whether California's climate disclosure laws unlawfully compel speech, as the U.S. Chamber seeks to block enforcement on constitutional grounds.

Whether California's two new laws on climate disclosure unconstitutionally force compelled speech from large businesses is being weighed by a federal judge in Los Angeles.

During a hearing Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Otis D. Wright II heard arguments on the issue from the state and U.S. Chamber of Commerce before taking the matter under submission.
