Judge rejects bid to block AG opinion on fantasy sports betting

While Attorney General Rob Bonta's opinion will not carry the force of law, it could be a prelude to legal action.

A Sacramento judge has denied Underdog Sports' bid to prevent Attorney General Rob Bonta from releasing an opinion that online sports betting is illegal in California. But the company's general counsel said he appreciates the "clarity" that Bonta's order does "not carry the weight of law."
