Plan to fold Lincoln Law into San Jose State revised amid money troubles

SB 550 would create a six-year pilot offering legal coursework and a shared law degree, with hopes of expanding public access to the legal profession.

Sen. Dave Cortese, D-Silicon Valley, has scaled back his proposal to merge San Jose's Lincoln Law School into San Jose State University.

Under amendments made on July 9, SB 550 would establish a six-year pilot program to offer legal coursework and certificate programs to undergraduates.
