LA to pay $48.8M for garbage truck hitting pedestrian in cross walk

A Los Angeles jury awarded $48.8M to Kamran Hakimi, left comatose after a city garbage truck struck him in a crosswalk, despite the city admitting driver negligence.

Panish Shea Ravipudi LLP obtained a $48.8 million verdict on Thursday for a pedestrian who was struck by a Los Angeles city garbage truck last August and was left comatose.

The city admitted the driver's negligence, but disputed the damages, according to the attorneys.
