LA says Airbnb didn't do enough to halt price-gouging

Los Angeles sued Airbnb, claiming the platform allowed price-gouging after January wildfires and misled users with flawed host verifications, despite efforts to curb illegal pricing and aid recovery.

The city of Los Angeles sued Airbnb, alleging the vacation rental platform allowed price gouging after the Palisades and Eaton wildfires in January.

Airbnb disputed the claims, highlighting its aid efforts and noting that Attorney General Rob Bonta praised its work to inform hosts they cannot raise prices more than 10% above Jan. 7 rates, when the fires began.
